Can A Book Change Your Life?

About a month ago I was browsing around at a book store and came across a book whose author I recognized from another book that I saw on the shelves a while back, which seemed intimidating to me. I picked it up and decided to give it a try even though I had doubts about being able to understand it. The book called A New Earth by Eckhart Tolle is not a typical book that I usually read. It's a very deep and spiritual book that I believe has changed how I live my life completely. I'm so glad that I bought this book. You have no idea. It's truly opened my eyes and my way of thinking. This book is so enlightening.
While reading the first chapter, I thought it might be way over my head, but as I got further into the book, it started making so much sense. The book is full of profound truths and revelations. There's a lot that everyone can relate to. I've also been tuning into Oprah and Eckhart's weekly online class, which is really a bonus to the book.
Immediately I began to experience a change in my life and I haven't even finished the book yet. I feel truly happy and at peace all the time even in moments I'd normally consider to be very stressful or frustrating. It feels like a weight has been lifted from my shoulders and I feel so light and free. You realize from reading this book that you are often burdened by your own thoughts.
Before I was always in search of some greater purpose in my life and figuring out what I needed to accomplish to make my life worthwhile in order to feel fulfilled and happy. But now I'm able to find joy in the present moment. I haven't felt so alive in such a long time until now. It's a great feeling to have constantly. No matter how difficult or unhappy of a situation you may be experiencing, it'll no longer affect you once you begin to live consciously. Even people who push your buttons or irritate you will no longer bother you.
This probably all sounds strange, but I really do believe this book has changed my life. I'm definitely not the same person I was before reading this book.
