I Was There

|

I was there.

And now I’m here wishing I was back there enjoying the nice warm weather on the beach.

The high today in Vancouver was 13°C/55°F…ugh. I had long shorts on and was expecting warm weather when I stepped out of my apartment today, but instead was greeted by a bit of a chill. It was such a disappointment.

The high today was 88°F in Green Bay. I actually wish I was there instead of here! And that’s crazy talk, especially coming from someone who doesn’t like Green Bay at all.

Following one of the suggested activities from the Lonely Planet guidebook, we decided to do the beach hike on Kaihalulu Beach next to the Turtle Bay resort, which is where the photo above was taken. It was nice because there was hardly anyone on that beach and it was like having it all to ourselves. But walking on sand can get tiring. We probably walked about two kilometers, but it took us longer than usual because of the sand.

It did make me wonder as I trudged along in the sand if there are such things as sandshoes which would make it easier to walk on the beach. You know… something like snowshoes, but instead designed for the sand. Anyone know if sandshoes exists? If not, maybe that can be my million dollar idea.
